The 2026 Swan Valley Show competitions are now open for registration!

Registrations are open for the categories below, and all entries will be displayed at the 2026 Swan Valley Show exhibition on Saturday, May 23. Judging will take place at the WA State Equestrian Centre on Friday, May 22, 2026.

Categories

Section A: Art & Craft

  • A1 Painting and Drawing - Works created using traditional 2D media, including watercolour, acrylic, oil, pencil, ink and mixed 2D techniques.
  • A2 Photography
  • A3 Sculpture - Includes ceramics, pottery, woodwork, metalwork and assemblage
  • A4 Textiles - Needlework, felting, textiles, fashion and fibre‑based craft.
  • A5 Community Sculpture Challenge - “Big Chicken” - Open to local schools, community groups and clubs to create a large, free‑standing chicken sculpture using recycled or found materials.

Section B: Home & Country Kitchen

  • B1 Jam and scones combination
  • B2 Sponge cake
  • B3 ANZAC biscuits

Section C: Horticulture & Gardening

  • C1 Garden produce basket
  • C2 Olives
  • C3 Honey
  • C4 Vase Floral Arrangements

Registrations close: Monday, May 11, 2026 at 9am.

Entries to be submitted for judging: Friday, May 22, 2026, between 11am and 5.30pm.

Judging: Friday, May 22, 2026, from 6.30pm.

Frequently asked questions

Q. Are registrations for the Swan Valley Show competitions free?

A. Yes. It’s free to register for the Swan Valley Show competitions.

Q. Can I register in more than one category?

A. Yes, you can register in multiple categories, but each category has a limit of one entry per person.

Q. How many entries will be accepted per category?

A. The first 10 entries will be accepted for each category.

Q. How do I drop off my entry for judging?

A. Entries must be delivered on Friday, 22nd May 2026 between 11am and 5:30pm to the WA State Equestrian Centre. Further details will be sent to you once you have registered.

All entries must be delivered during this time to be considered for judging. Late entries will not be accepted.

Q. When will judging take place?

A. Judging will commence at 6:30 PM on Friday, 22nd May 2026. Judges’ decisions are independent and final. No correspondence will be entered into.

Award presentations will commence at 3:00PM on Saturday, 23rd May 2026.

Q. What will I win?

A. Three awards will be presented per category including 1st, 2nd, 3rd place. First prize will receive a $50 Swan Valley Gift Card. Each placeholder will receive a ribbon.

Q. When do I collect my entry?

A. Entries must be picked up from State Equestrian Centre upon the conclusion of the awards ceremony from 3:30-4:00PM Saturday, 23rd May 2026.
