Swan Valley artisans

The Swan Valley is home to the galleries and studios of some exceptional artisans, such as:

  • Blacksmith, Antonio Battistessa, whose Battistessa Studio can be visited by appointment
  • Thomas Maurer, whose work creating three-dimensional optical illusions on sheet metal is displayed in his shed studio, Illusionary Art
  • Jude Taylor, renowned Western Australian linocut print artist.

Gomboc Gallery Sculpture Park is one of the oldest privately-owned galleries in Western Australia and features 4.5 hectares of sculpture grounds alongside a five-room indoor gallery space with exhibits featuring established and emerging artists of all disciplines.

Dave Burke, furniture maker at Celtic Swan Furniture, works with local timbers ranging from rich, mahogany-hued Jarrah to honey-toned Marri and golden Sheoak.

Perched on the Darling Escarpment overlooking the Swan Valley, Alchemy Art House is an open studio gallery and creative retreat where emerging Western Australian artists, workshops and art experiences come together in a space that nurtures inspiration and creative growth.

Maalinup Aboriginal Gallery is an Aboriginal-owned and -operated gallery featuring beautiful artwork by West Australian Aboriginal artists.
