Whiteman Park is hosting a Community Planting Day on National Tree Day!
The annual National Tree Day plantings are a great opportunity for the local community to get involved in the revegetation and overall improvement of previously disturbed and degraded habitats in the Park, so the Whiteman Park team would love to see everyone and their green thumbs!
The Horse Swamp south site will involve planting a bushland buffer zone between Dulwich Street and the Conservation category wetland to help support the health of this important wildlife habitat.
The vegetation buffer that will be created through this regeneration project will support a range of species in the future, from the quenda and koomal (brush-tailed possums) to resident frogs and a host of bird species.
