Visiting from overseas or interstate? Or are you West Australian born and bred? Good news – the Swan Valley is located just 25 minutes from the centre of Perth and just 10 minutes from the Perth Airport, meaning a day trip is as easy as pie. Here’s a guide of how to get here from the Perth CBD.
By train or bus:
The Swan Valley is not particularly accessible by foot, meaning you will need some wheels to get around. You can catch a train on the Midland train line, get off at Guildford station and continue to your final destination via taxi or rideshare service such as Uber, Ola or Didi.
If you prefer to self-drive, there are clearly sign-posted and well-conditioned roads leading from the Perth CBD to the Swan Valley. Head east on Guildford Road from Perth and pick up your free copy of the Swan Valley Visitor Guide from the Swan Valley Visitor Centre - then you're good to go.
With all the tasting options available, we strongly suggest you appoint a reliable skipper to make your way around the Valley. The Office of Road Safety in Western Australia contains all the information about our road rules, speed limits and drink driving. Have fun but always remember to drink responsibly and stay safe!
By organised tour:
See the sights in style, chauffeured on a coach, via luxury limo or, for something a little different, river cruise, helicopter or even horse and carriage. A number of operators offer pick up from accommodation or a nominated address in the Perth metro area. Browse a whole range of tours, which are available to book online or by calling the Swan Valley Visitor Centre.
