If quality pottery and sculpture are your thing, be sure to drop into Guildford Village Potters Club studio.
Located right next door to the Swan Valley Visitor Centre, this longstanding creative outlet for local artists showcases a wide range of craft items including magical, multi-hued raku, fine tableware, original sculptural pieces and colourful wall hangings.
The club was started in 1981 as an art co-operative and gallery. Today its members make pottery in a wide variety of styles, sharing equally in the running of the gallery, so that new work is displayed almost daily. As friendly and enthusiastic ceramic artists, club members are always keen to discuss their work and can demonstrate the making of wheel-thrown pottery while talking to tourists and local customers about their craft.
The gallery accepts commissions for quality hand-made, individually-designed pieces. Adult classes are held on a regular basis, as are children's holiday classes.
