A record 271 wines were entered into this year’s show and 37 gold medals were awarded, a reflection of the high standard of wines submitted.
Sandalford Wines won the City of Swan Trophy, awarded to the exhibitor whose five or more entries gained the highest average score.
Windy Creek Estate's 2018 Chenin Blanc was awarded the Liquor Barons Trophy for the Best Regional Wine of Show, which is judged separately and awarded to the wine that in the judge’s opinion shows true Swan Valley regional character.
The winery also took home six trophies, including Best Swan Valley Table Wine of Show, Best Chenin Blanc and Best Regional Wine of Show, Best Varietal Dry White or Dry White Blend (Classic Dry White 2024), Best Verdelho (Verdelho 2020) and Best Grenache or Grenache Dominant Blend (Grenache 2023).
Mandoon Estate took home a total of four trophies, in addition to Most Successful Producer, they won Best Sparkling Wine (Reserve Sparkling 2015), Best Non GPZ Wine (Reserve Cabernet 2020) and Best Single Red Varietal (Durif 2022).
The Nikola Estate Chenin Blanc 2024 won Best 2024 Dry White Wine of Show. The Pinelli Estate Wines Liqueur Muscat NV won the Best Fortified Wine of Show.
Sittella won the Best Shiraz or Shiraz Dominant Blend for their Coffee Rock Shiraz 2021. And their Museum Silk 2016 won the prestigious Alan Dinneen Memorial Trophy. This wine was selected by Chair of Judges Erin Larkin from all of the Swan Valley GI Wines entered into the show.
When making the announcement Erin said “This style is one that the Swan Valley executes with unerring class and reliability. I love these wines, they bring joy to me, they speak so clearly of place, and this is a place that I am so proud to represent.”
