Gidgegannup is a rural neighbour of the Swan Valley, made up of beautiful native bushland, oodles of fresh air and quiet country charm. The name of the area has Noongar origins, meaning "the place where spears are made". The Indigenous people of the area called it Gidjeejarnup, which later developed into its current name by the influence of white settlers.
Gidgegannup has some of the most beautiful natural walking trails and national parks around, so get your hiking gear ready. Berry Reserve, Noble Falls, Walyunga and Karakamia Sanctuary show off the area’s beautiful natural fauna and flora, and provide seriously breathtaking views of Perth and the metropolitan area.
