Director and head brewer at Ironbark Brewery, Graeme White moved to the Valley 42 years ago with his family after farming at Brookton, Dandaragan and Newdegate. After many years devoted to other ventures, Graeme’s passion for beer and hands on involvement drove him to create his own full mash brewery.
After obtaining a Brewery Management Certificate from Edith Cowan University in 2005, Graeme designed and built a 1500L full mash brewery to brew beer the original way with premium yeasts, golden malts, high quality hops, concentrated ginger, no added preservatives and no sugar. He currently brews over 45 types of beer and five ciders.
Graeme has made a real impact on brewing in the Valley. His traditional style recipes and brewing techniques, using a decoction mashing system set him apart. Different international specialty beers appear frequently on the beer menu as Graeme sources malts from all around the world.
As he is regularly on hand at the brewery, Graeme is more than pleased to divulge tricks of the trade to keen samplers who can try the various ranges of stouts, lagers, pilsners, wheat and ales on tap.
