Questing for quality family time

The Swan Valley is more than wineries and long lunches. There are adventures around every corner for families.

Oakover Grounds

Oakover Grounds is a family utopia, with freshly roasted coffee, great food and space to roam. Grab some breakfast then let the kids run wild on the sprawling grassed area. They can have a hit of cricket, make use of the free paddle boats or even fish for rainbow trout. It would be easy to spend all day here but with so much more to experience, we suggest you drag the family away after a couple of hours.

Little Lamont's

Turn left up Great Northern Highway and you’ll find Little Lamont’s on your right. Little Lamont’s, is a reliable pop-in location for ready-made meals, artisan breads, freshly baked cakes and gourmet deli items. Grab some take away lunch for a picnic later today. The Lamont family have been producing award-winning wine and food in the Valley for more than 35 years, so you are in good hands.

Swan Valley Cuddly Animal Farm

Meet the farm animals and some Aussie favourites at the Swan Valley Cuddly Animal Farm. After feeding, take a spin on the tractor ride then get moving with unlimited bouncy castle fun. Once everyone is exhausted roll out your Lamonts picnic and relax under the trees.

Margaret River Chocolate Factory

Ready for a sweet treat? Margaret River Chocolate Factory is calling. Scoop a handful of chocolately bud goodness and grab the kids a front row view into the chocolate company kitchen where they can watch the magic happen. An onsite café compliments the chocolatey goodness with coffees and teas.

Maison Saint-Honore

One dessert is never enough so swing past the unique Maison Saint-Honore which is just south, passing across Reid Highway and turning right at Benara Road. This French inspired café specialises in macarons, pastries and crepes. With a family friendly outdoor terrace area, this is the perfect last stop of the day, to stretch your legs and wind down before heading home. And a selection of macarons for tomorrow won't go astray.

Extend your day...with some dinner

Can't bear to leave? Alfred's Kitchen is an icon of the region, located on the corner of Meadow and James Street Guildford. The kids will love a casual burger dinner around the open fire pit as they share their memories of the day. They'll be ready to get home and snuggle into bed before you know it.
