More and more boutique Swan Valley wine producers are choosing to cut out the middle man and sell direct. This includes Lisbet and Claus Petersen, who sell their handcrafted premium wines only at cellar door.
This historic property dates back to the late 1800s, and a large number of the cabernet sauvignon and the shiraz vines are from the original planting. Most of what the Petersens produce is exported to their native country of Denmark, but on weekends they personally attend the cellar door for tastings and sales.
The couple believe in a “hands on" approach to winemaking and carry out all aspects of the production themselves, from vineyard work and winemaking right through to bottling and packaging of the finished wine.
Henley Park also offers lunch at the cafe, where you can take a seat under the pergola overlooking the vineyard or inside the old cellar, surrounded by barrels as you savour your visit to this warm, welcoming, family-run winery.
