If you’re a visitor to the region and would like to gain a stronger sense of its heritage, head for this vibrant weekend marketplace featuring an enclosed playground for the kids, plenty of outdoor seating and ample parking.
The Swan Settlers Co-Operative building has been a valley icon for nearly 100 years and is home to over 40 local artisans, growers and producers.
On one side of the building you’ll find the delightful Annie’s Collective Wonderland, made up of eight mini-shops offering vintage clothing, retro upcycled memorabilia, books and much more.
The rest of the building is taken up with local art, craft, jewellery and fresh produce – including line-caught fish (something of a rarity in the valley) and locally-sourced meat.
A small museum at the rear tells of the history of the area, and there are ample opportunities to enjoy wine samples and a well-earned cuppa.
Swan Settlers Market also offers regular events and demonstrations.
