The Swan Valley has scooped two gold medals for outstanding industry achievement in tourism at the prestigious QANTAS Australian Tourism Awards. The Swan Valley Visitor Centre took out gold as the best Visitor Centre in Australia and Sandalford Wines won for Wine Tourism.
The Qantas Australian Tourism Awards are the industry’s premier awards program recognising outstanding achievement and were held this year at the new Perth Optus Stadium.
City of Swan Mayor David Lucas was delighted by the win. "I am thrilled the Swan Valley Visitor Centre has been officially recognised as the best in Australia," he says.
"With over 500 Centres in the country this is an incredible achievement. The City is dedicated to tourism and the provision of quality visitor servicing and this win is a reflection of that. It is also a reflection of the wonderful work being done by our dedicated and passionate team of staff and volunteers - well done to them all.
"There is a reason why the finest wineries, breweries, distilleries and artisans call the Swan Valley home."
This Swan Valley Visitor Centre's latest win comes off the back of gold last November at the 2017 Perth Airport WA Tourism Awards.
