Melbourne Cup Luncheons

29 October 2019

Pony up and quit horsing around – it’s time to get your Melbourne Cup luncheon tickets. Swan Valley is no one-horse town and there are plenty of events to saddle up for.

Caversham House is adding a touch of glamour to the day with a Melbourne Cup Garden Party. Enjoy the race that stops the nation with canapés and a cocktail while you settle in under the pergola. There are also prizes for best dressed male, best dressed female and best hat, with music by Roadshow DJs.

Get your rosé on at Riverbank Estate with free tastings on arrival and a three-course meal. Then burn it all off with dancing and garden games on the lawn.

Don’t be a foal, hit up The Hen for plenty of horse. You’ll need to eat like a horse if you want to win the bumnut eating competition but leave room for oysters by Juzzy and the Mumm champagne bar.

Catch all the action at Mandoon Estate’s Surveyors Rooms before adjourning to the ballroom for a three-course lunch. Mandoon Estate wines and Homestead Brewery craft beers along with $15 Aperol Spritz, Espresso Martinis and Negronis will keep you hydrated.

Blake Williams from Mix 94.5 will MC the day with sweepstakes, best-dressed prizes, door prizes and luxury accommodation giveaways.

If you’ve got a sweet tooth, The Vines is where you want to be – as well as gin spritz cocktails, sweeps and prizes, they’re busting out a chocolate fountain dessert.

Hoof it to Guildford where The Stirling Arms is serving up a three-hour drinks package and a lunch featuring crispy pork belly, lamb Shanks and a spinach and ricotta agnolotti.

They’ll also have fashions in the field by Valente Couture and live music from 2.30pm.
