Four family friendly venues in the Swan Valley

18 September 2018

It’s easy to spend your weekend exploring and relaxing at family friendly venues in the Swan Valley! You are spoilt for choice with spots that cater for children with playgrounds and activities to keep your kids (or grandkids) busy. These four places feature fun playgrounds, lots of things to do, and children’s menus, giving adults time to enjoy a glass or two of Swan Valley wine. Cheers!

Oakover Grounds

Family-friendly-2.jpgIt’s so easy to spend a whole afternoon at Oakover Grounds. There’s lots to do here - peddle boating on the lake, giant garden games and even fishing! The winery’s casual restaurant overlooks the lake, rolling lawns and vineyards, making it a top spot to enjoy a family lunch. There’s tasty food, wine, local beers and Oakover Grounds is also the home of award-winning Fiori Coffee.

Whether you love to visit a winery, brewery or get back to nature – there’s something for every family in the Swan Valley.

Mandoon Estate, a family friendly Swan Valley winery, is found on the banks of the Swan River. The modern winery is a must-stop for foodie families that are seeking delicious food and wine, in a laid-back setting.

At the adjoining Homestead Brewery you’ll find delicious pub food favourites on the menu. Eat on their veranda, overlooking a sea of vines or head to the grassed area out the back. Here kids can run around and play ball games in the view of the picnic tables. There’s also a fenced, gated and shaded playground which will keep little ones occupied for hours. At the Deli there’s a gourmet pizza menu or pick up some fresh local produce to snack on.

Mash is a fun-filled microbrewery in the Swan Valley. Found next to the Swan Valley Oasis resort, where you can challenge your family to a round of supa golf or mini golf. The brewery offers casual food options like parmis, burgers or something from the smokehouse that the whole family will love. There’s a new playground outside and inside you’ll find a gated kid’s corner with toys and a TV to keep children busy!

Whiteman Park

There’s so much to do at Whiteman Park – ride the tram or train, discover our motoring history at the WA Motor Museum, hire a go kart and ride through the bush or meet some Aussie animals at Caversham Wildlife Park.

Whiteman Park has been providing an action packed day out for generations. There’s always something new to discover at this Swan Valley gem. For cheap thrills, pack a picnic and sit by the shaded playground area. There’s also free water fun, with a splash zone area proving popular on warm days too.
