Forget greasy fast food, we like our take-away a little more gourmet in the Swan Valley. Think perfectly brewed coffee, delicious gourmet ready-to-go meals, artisan breads and fresh produce. Enjoy them at home or over a picnic in one of the many picturesque parks in the region. Whatever you're on the hunt for, here are our favourite options for food on-the-go in the Valley.

Yahava_cup.jpg We’ve all had those mornings where you’re running late and desperately need a caffeine pick me up. Never fear, there are lots of cafes and venues offering takeaway coffee in the Swan Valley. Get your bean fix at Mondo Nougat, Taylor's in the Valley and Oakover Grounds, which is also home to Fiori Coffee. Can’t be bothered getting out of the car? Opt for drive through at Yahava Koffeeworks, The Naked Fox (formerly Little Albion) or Joey’s Swan Valley Diner, which mercifully stays open later than most cafes. In Guildford, Willing Coffee is the place for quality beans and batch brews. Don’t forget a take away hot chocolate for the kids.

Fresh Food Stalls

kellers bread.jpg Driving through the Swan Valley you’ll notice rustic roadside produce stalls and stores. Here you can buy freshly picked product direct from the people who grow it. Depending on what’s in season, you can devour juicy melons, crisp table grapes, plump figs or tangy citrus fruits. Swan Valley Sisters, found on Gnangara Road, sell their own and locally sourced o produce including asparagus, oranges, lemons and stone fruit. Coffee, juice, toasties and muffins are also available to dine in or take away.

If you’re in search of the perfect sourdough, make a beeline to Keller’s Farm. Varieties include white, rye, rosemary and jalapeno and cheese. The bread is perfect with local cheeses, preserves and jams also stocked at the stall.

Something Savoury

Need something tasty for an epic food platter or to make your own gourmet sandwich? Pick up artisan breads at Maison Saint Honore, chutneys and dukkas at Providore, meats from Elmar's In the Valley and cheese and charcuterie from Swan Valley Marketplace at Oakover Grounds.

Swan Settlers BBQ.JPG You can treat the whole family to gourmet burgers, hotdogs, fries and ice cream at Joey’s Swan Valley Diner, where you can dine in or take away. On weekends, make sure to stop by Swan Settlers Market for cuisines from around the globe including Thai, Malaysian, Vietnamese, Italian and American barbecue. Pizza and pasta can be ordered to go from the drive through window at Pasta in the Valley.

While wine tasting, you can also pick up a range of cheese and olives at the Twin Hill cellar door and heat at home meals from Lamont’s Winery check their social media to find out what’s available each weekend.
