Travel Around the Swan Valley

 

There’s a variety of ways to travel around the Swan Valley, from self drive itineraries to guided tours, including cruises on the Swan River. If you’re driving yourself, it will take you just 25 minutes from Perth city centre and only 10 minutes from Perth’s domestic airport. A hop-on hop-off shuttle service is available or you may like to cylce.

Guided Tours

Over 20 operators offer a range of tours that take in a diverse range of attractions, including the region’s award-winning wineries and fresh produce. Travel around the Swan Valley in a horse-drawn wagon. Take a coach trip. Jump aboard a boat cruise. Or join an authentic Indigenous tour. Travel by car

Situated just six kilometres from the domestic airport terminal and 16 kilometres from the international terminal, choosing to travel to and around the Swan Valley by car is a great option. Hire cars can be collected from either terminal.
 
To get to Guildford and the visitor centre from the international terminal, turn right onto the Tonkin Highway and right again onto the Great Eastern Highway. Turn right to join James Street and then left onto Meadow Street. From the domestic terminal, turn right onto the Great Eastern Highway, right again to join James Street and then left into Meadow Street.

On arrival, call into the visitor centre where the friendly staff will provide you with maps and helpful advice. Take a train to the Swan Valley

Visitors can board a train from Perth City to Midland and disembark at Guildford station on the Perth to Midland line. The journey takes approximately 20 to 25 minutes, with regular services running seven days a week. Public Bus Service

There is no regular public bus service along the Swan Valley Food and Wine Trail.

Swan Valley Shuttle Service

A hop-on-hop-off service operates from Wednesday to Sunday on the hour to and from the Vines Resort and Country Club, the Swan Valley Visitor Centre and Guildford Train Station. If you prefer a more relaxed way to travel around the Swan Valley you can enjoy the convenience that The Swan Valley Shuttle Service offers. Bicycles

Another way to see this beautiful region is by bike. Contact the Visitor Centre for more information about the new Swan Valley Heritage Cycle Trail.

You can now hire bikes from Swan Valley Bike Hire on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays - Crn Meadow and Swan Streets Guildford - It is recommended you book your bike ahead of time to avoid disapoinment. Call Swan Valley Bike Hire on 0488 160 770 

You can board Transperth trains with your bicycle anytime outside of peak hours.

Please note: In Western Australia it is illegal to ride a bicycle without wearing a helmet.
