The Swan Valley would like to extend a warm welcome to all participants of the 2008 Australian National Polocrosse Championships.
"I Drift off to sleep dreaming about food and what secrets tomorrow will bring, so follow your taste buds and lose yourself in the flavours of the Swan Valley"
Darren Simpson, Celebrity Chef
Only 25 minutes drive from Perth City and less than 10 minutes form Perth Domestic airport lies the award-winning Swan Valley Food and Wine Trail.
This 32-kilometre scenic loop encompasses more than 150 places to wine and dine including relaxed cafes, busy breweries, fine restaurants and - a trademark of the Swan Valley - many roadside stalls selling just picked local produce.
Not that our valley is just about eating and drinking. The region is also home to world class art galleries and various family friendly attractions including a wildlife park, cycle paths and aboriginal cultural experiences.
As the states oldest producer we are particularly proud of our wines, which range from verdelho - a valley specialty - to other white styles, full-bodied reds and some of the best fortifieds in the world.
Ultimately, what makes the valley such a special pace to explore are its people. Visit a cellar door and, chances are, you'll be greeted by the owners themselves, eager to share a yarn about the region's 170 years of viticulture.
The Swan Valley wishes you the best of luck with your national championships and looks forward to sharing the Swan Valley and all it has to offer.
