The annual Swan Valley Wine Show, organised and run by the Swan Valley & Regional Winemakers Association, is the leading event for the judging of wines in the Perth region and enables winemakers from within the region to have their wines analysed by a panel of expert judges.
Judging for the 2009 Swan Valley Wine Show was held on Thursday 17th September with 254 wines from 41 producers being assessed by two panels of judges, led by Dorham Mann in the role of Chairman of Judges. This years show saw 25 gold medals, 36 silver and 80 bronze awarded.
The Gala Dinner & Trophy Presentation was held on Friday 18th September at the stunning Caversham House. Sittella winery had a successful evening taking home the trophies for Most Successful Exhibitor of Table Wines and also the Most Successful Exhibitor of the Show. The Sittella 2007 Semillon took out the trophy for Best Dry White Table Wine (Grown outside Greater Perth Zone) and overall their wines received 3 gold, 1 silver and 8 bronze medals.
Other big winners on the night were Talijancich for their fortified wines, John Kosovich Wines for their bottle aged Chenin Blanc and Faber Vineyard for the 2007 Reserve Shiraz.
