Sandalford soars at WA Tourism and Gold Plate Awards
Sandalford Wines has scooped the pool at the recent Perth Airport WA Tourism Awards and Kleenheat Gold Plate Awards.
One of Western Australia’s oldest wine makers took home three coveted tourism awards, including gold for Tourism Restaurants and Catering, gold for Tourism Wineries, Distilleries and Breweries and gold for Excellence in Chinese Tourism.
The awards recognise and celebrate excellence in the tourism industry and Sandalford, who welcomes around 200,000 visitors per year, beat out coveted competition to snare the top spots.
Continuing on their winning streak, the popular winery also picked up the Bill Thompson Award at the 50th Kleenheat Gold Plate Awards on Monday November 14.
The award recognises excellence in service and was taken home by Sandalford employee Jack Tolich, for his exceptionally high standard of presentation, service and commitment to the hospitality industry.
Sandalford also took home top honours for Tourism Restaurant Metro and Regional, and were recipients of the Prix D'Honneur Award along with fellow Swan Valley eatery Chesters. Caversham House (winners of Licensed Casual Dining Metro) and Riverbank Estate (winners of Restaurant/Cafe Within a Winery Perth/Surrounds) were also winners on the night.
