Guildford Village Potters Club was started in 1981 as a co-operative gallery.
We have 22 members making pottery in a wide variety of styles and prices, from the magic of Raku through fine tableware to sculptural pieces and wall hangings.
We all share equally in running the Gallery so that new work is displayed almost daily as we arrive to do our rosters.
As friendly and enthusiastic ceramic artists we are always keen to discuss our work and promote our craft.
We demonstrate the making of wheelthrown pottery while talking to the tourist and local customers about our craft. The gallery accepts commissions for quality handmade, individually designed pieces required by it's clients.
Adult classes are held, where many students later become experienced potters and join as new members to the group.
Workshops are held of well known artists, some from overseas. We invite local groups to join us to experience new ideas and new glaze techniques.
Over the years we have joined in celebrating Spring in the Valley with inviting craft stalls to join us outside under the shaded trees and garden.
For many years we were the only voluntary information centre for the Swan Valley.
Children's' classes are held during the holidays and have become very popular.
Many of the potters' works are represented in private collections around the world and are well known for their award winning pieces.
