About Swan Valley

Perth's Valley of Taste

Discover the rich fusion of award-winning wineries, fine food, fascinating history, amazing art and lively events set against the stunning scenery of Western Australia's Swan Valley. Best of all, it’s just a 25 minute drive from the Perth city centre and less than 10 minutes from the Perth domestic airport.

A great way to experience the region’s wonders is to follow the award-winning Swan Valley Food and Wine Trail – a scenic loop taking in some of Western Australia’s finest wineries, breweries, distilleries, restaurants, cafésarts and crafts and fresh produce. Take a look at our maps and brochures page to download or order your Swan Valley Food and Wine Trail map, or to discover other maps of the region.

The Swan Valley is conveniently open seven days a week, all year round.

Many of our local businesses are small to medium sized and often owner-operated establishments. Opening days and times do vary from business to business and some operate on a seasonal basis. Rest assured there is always something exciting to discover in the Swan Valley whenever you visit.

Award-winning wineries

As well as holding the title as the state’s oldest wine growing region, the Swan Valley is home to many of WA's award-winning wineries.

Notable wine varieties range from speciality whites such as Verdelho, full-bodied reds and some of the world’s finest fortifieds. Discover more about the Swan Valley’s wine offerings in our wine section

Breweries and distilleries

Today the Valley is just as much about award-winning beers and spirits as it is about premium wines. Now you can taste the produce of two distilleries and five boutique beer outlets. See the Breweries and Distilleries page for more details.

Fascinating heritage and family fun

Head into Guildford and you’ll discover an impressive array of beautifully restored heritage buildings and historic attractions, offering an engaging insight into the early settlement and colonial history of WA and the Swan Valley.
